Managing Exponential Changes

Managing Exponential Changes

On 2nd March 2016, it is proposed to organize a meeting of SSY/Matrumandir supporters to discuss this issue which many of our generation are having difficulty deal with.

The world is witnessing changes at ever increasing faster rates. All of us have witnessed how the
electronics technology of Integrated Circuits (ICs) is doubling it's power every 18 months for almost last 35 years. Computers, which were expensive even for large corporations are now in every home in multiple numbers.

This has changed life of almost every person on earth. Now we don't send letters but exchange email messages, we don't need to go to the markets but can order practically every thing from home computer, our work and leisure patterns have changed.

For a large majority, these sudden changes are creating anxiety of unknown. The products, technologies, skills required are all getting obsolete very quickly and get replaced by new much powerful alternatives. Individually, we all are forced to learn and adapt new technologies. The stable life long jobs are getting rare.

However, these exponential changes have created enormous opportunities for those who are able to understand the trends and be prepared for these changes. Now there is abundance of many things in life, easy communication, practically unlimited entertainment, free abundant knowledge resources .. etc. If we are aware of what to expect then the actual changes do not affect us emotionally.

In our meeting on 2nd March, we will discuss which technologies, products, skills are on the exponential growth path, how will this affect our private and professional life, how can we prepare ourselves to ride over these changes successfully.
